Task 1: Digital Citizenship
For Task 1 we are required to create a website and blog and then research safe, responsible, and ethical use of ICT in an online environment. We then select one aspect and develop a set of "digital guidelines" which we present as a printable poster.
Research Summary
On the Technology Toolbox for Educators (TT4Ed) Digital Literacy page there are a couple of quotes from the Indiana Jen blog that helped me understand the meaning of digital citizenship and identify some of the elements of safe, responsible and ethical use of ICT in an online environment. Digital citizenship is about understanding how to navigate, interact and communicate online (Indiana Jen, Feb 2014)
I also visited the CyberWise website and came across a great video called "What is Digital Citizenship?"that talks about many aspects of Digital Citizenship. I then had a look at a few examples of other digital posters:

Poster description
I decided to create a poster about the best way to attribute Creative Commons licensed images. Too often I see CC licensed images with no or scant acknowledgement of the author and it's source. Using others work without proper acknowledgment is plagiarism and an infringment of copyright law. I think it is important to teach children about using others work, espcecially in an online environment, from an early age. The poster I have created is aimed at primary school children in years 3 - 6. The language is relatively simple with little text and simple images. It could also be used for secondary school children, however, I think more information could be provided for secondary school students. I used Piktochart v3 to create my poster and I found it really easy to use. My Digital Poster View the online version of my poster: "Attribution CC Images" on the Piktochart website.
